Laboratory of Animal Production and Ecology (LAPE-Ito)

伊都キャンパスでは乳牛(ホルスタイン種)とヤギを飼育し、約3.5haの飼料畑でイタリアンライグラスやエンバクなどの粗飼料を生産しています。At the Ito Campus, we raise dairy cattle and goats, and cultivate forage crops.

実習ではこれらの反芻家畜や牧草の管理、農場で生産した牛乳を利用した乳加工、肉加工実習などを行っています。We provide practical farm training for students, including the management of ruminant livestock and forage crops, as well as dairy and meat processing.

畜産に関わる様々な体験を通して、学生たちが畜産を幅広い視点から学べるよう取り組んでいます。We offer hands-on training to help students develop a broad understanding of livestock production, from animal husbandry and forage production to dairy and meat processing.

研究内容 Rsearch

スマート畜産の基礎となる研究や、ルーメン細菌叢や腸内細菌叢、生殖器細菌叢など生体内マイクロバイオームと生産性と疾病の関連について解析を行っています。家畜も人も健康に生き、未来に続く畜産物生産に寄与することを目標に研究を展開しています。Our research focuses on developing the scientific foundations of smart livestock farming and investigating the relationships between host-associated microbiomes—including the rumen, gut, and reproductive tract microbiomes—and animal productivity and health. Through our research, we aim to contribute to sustainable livestock production that supports the health and well-being of both animals and people.

施設

乳牛舎

最大16頭収容可能なつなぎ飼い式牛舎で、乳牛(ホルスタイン種)を飼育しています。移転に伴いパイプラインミルカーを導入しました。

山羊舎

主に日本の在来品種であるトカラヤギを飼育しています。トカラヤギは鹿児島県トカラ列島で主に肉用として飼養されてきた品種です。乳用のザーネン種に比べて小型なのが特徴です。

畜産加工室

学生実習でベーコン、ソーセージ、ハムなどの肉加工品を製造しています。製造した肉加工品は学内で販売しています。
